At the weekend I took a trip down to Oxfordshire to visit the magnificent Blenheim Palace.
The tickets included access to the Palace, the gardens and to the flower show. Initially I was keen to see the flower show, but the building was so stunning we soon gave up on this idea and dedicated our afternoon to the one-time residence of Sir Winston Churchill. The tour was fantastic and genuinely really interesting- I’ve touched on the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough while reading about Highclere aka Downton Abbey. It really is a joy when the puzzle pieces come together.
I absolutely adored the beautiful Rose Garden. The smell on a beautiful sunny afternoon was just delicious. And through the arches one has a spectacular view of the lake.
It just so happened that a wedding was to take place that very evening.
Oh for an invite!
