On Friday my brother and I went to Rural Entrepreneur Live at Olympia. The aim- to inspire us in ways to diversify. It is clear that a farm can no longer survive on ‘corn and horn’ alone, so everyone is looking for means of bringing their business into the future and using their land and resources as best they can.
We listened to some really thought-provoking talks and saw a whole host of mental looking glamping structures.
One of my favourite speakers was a man called Mike Donovan on ‘The Route Ahead for Progressive Farming’. He spoke with some humour about how he’d not always got it quite right! Ultimately he said that you shouldn’t pick a business which doesn’t suit you or your setup because it just won’t work.
We’ve got a lot to think about now!
